The Flavin Lighter and Ashtray Set is a deep blue-black orb that almost appears to glow in certain light, named after the artist Dan Flavin, whose illuminated sculptures had a similar effect. The orb opens into two pieces: the bottom half is a vintage-style vector lighter, while the top half serves as an ashtray. Press the small button to release a tall flame that beckons guests to lean in and light up. Display it on a stack of coffee table books, or on a bookshelf, as an ornamental object that comes in handy when you least expect it.

care & use

Clean the glass, use a dry soft cloth to wipe the surface. Use butane fuel and avoid lighter fluid. Make sure no open flames are near. Adjust flame height to low setting. Bleed the fuel tank by pressing down on the lighter refill valve until hissing stops (see diagram). Shake refill can to check for butane gas. Hold both the refill can and the lighter upside down in each hand. Push refill nozzle firmly, and all the way into the lighter valve. Fuel in position for 15-20 seconds. Wait until lighter reaches room temperature before igniting (approximately 5-10 minutes). Reset flame height from low flame to desired setting.
